About
At the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health (MACMH), we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive emotionally, socially, and mentally—from infancy through young adulthood.
Founded in 1989, MACMH is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to promote and pursue optimal mental health from infancy to young adulthood. We provide education, resources, and support to professionals, caregivers, families and youth across Minnesota and beyond.
We invite you to explore our 2024 Annual Report to learn more about our impact and ongoing initiatives.
Youth & Family
As an organization founded by and for families, our work is anchored in helping families navigate through the journey of raising a child with mental health challenges. We provide free resources, educational opportunities and family coaching services designed to help parents and caregivers support both their children’s mental health as well as their own.
In order to build systems that effectively promote children’s mental health, young people must have a leading voice at the table. Through our youth programming, we amplify the voice, stories and talents of young leaders, while promoting skills for mental wellness.
Professional Development
In order for children to do better, families and communities must do better—and at the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health, we recognize the key role that a skilled, ethical, culturally-responsive workforce plays in that equation. By equipping professionals from across disciplines with knowledge and tools for the workplace, we enhance capacity statewide to best serve children and families. MACMH’s flagship professional development opportunities include,
- the annual Child & Adolescent Mental Health Conference, one of the largest of its kind in the country.
- regular MACMH Training Series webinars that offer continuing education hours for professionals.
- recorded On-Demand Trainings to supplement real-time trainings for those who need flexible learning opportunities.
Infant & Early Childhood
Grounded in the knowledge that the earliest years are critical in shaping lifelong health and wellbeing, our Infant & Early Childhood Division works to build a multidisciplinary workforce equipped to address the unique needs of children, prenatal to age 6, and their families.
MACMH is a proud state organization of the National Federation of Famlies – a nationwide advocacy organization with families as its sole focus.
