Teacher Resources

There are many different ways to use this web-based curriculum.  Click here for a PDF of the Teachers Guide to the Defenders.

For all grades, it is recommended that the Introduction be teacher-led.  Also, it’s best to use an LCD projector if available.  Once you have clicked through the Introduction, explain to the students how they will progress through the missions.  Also decide whether they will do one mission a day or complete all the missions in one sitting.  Once a mission is started, it is best to complete it.

For grades K-3, it is recommended that all the missions be teacher-led.

For grades 4-6, this can be a self-directed assignment, depending on the students’ reading level and computer skills.

For ideas of non-violent super powers based on students’ interests, go to the conclusion of the Defenders Curriculum.  Students will meet Star Power, a Defender who is able to turn people’s natural abilities into super powers.

A Note About Browsers

There are differences in formatting when using Internet Explorer (PC) versus Firefox and Safari (Mac).

You will notice slight differences in colors and fonts.  The most noticeable difference will be when you are linking to outside pages.  In Internet Explorer, you will receive a pop up window.  You will need to close this to continue in the mission.  In Firefox and Safari you will see a full size page or a new tab.  You will have to close this window or tab to continue in the mission.
