Do you supervise professionals who work with infants, young children and their families?
Are you providing Reflective Consultation? Have you been looking for an opportunity to receive and experience Reflective Support around your work?

MACMH’s Infant and Early Childhood Division is now offering online reflective practice groups for professionals in the infant and family field. Whether you are planning on applying for IMH-Endorsement or are solely looking for Reflective Support in your work, this learning experience is for you.

What you can expect:

  • A consistent, small group of no more than 6 members.
  • 2 hours of monthly reflective practice support for 6 months (June through November)
  • Participants will gain 12 hours of Reflective Practice, which can be applied towards IMH Endorsement.
  • All Reflective Consultants leading the groups have earned the MACMH Infant & Early Childhood Endorsement as an Infant Mental Health Specialist at Level III or an IMH Mentor (Clinical) at Level IV
  • A regular time and place to meet in the virtual world. Our Reflective Consultants will be using the online platform Zoom. Participants will be sent an e-mail invitation to join.
  • Opportunity to apply the MACMH Infant & Early Childhood IMH Competencies to promote the supervisee’s professional development in the infant-early childhood-family field.
  • Respectful space where each supervisee’s pace/readiness to learn is supported.
  • Encouraging space for exploration of thoughts and feelings that the supervisee has about the experience of supervision as well as how that experience might influence his/her work.
  • Increased awareness of the feelings experienced in response to one’s work and in the presence of an infant or very young child and parent(s)/caregivers.
  • Shared exploration of the parallel process.  That is, attention to all of the important relationships, including the relationships between practitioner and supervisor, between practitioner and parent, and between parent and infant/toddler.

Option #1*:
The first Wednesday of the Month (June – November) | 3 – 5 p.m.
June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6, October 4 & November 1

Option #2*:
The third Tuesday of the Month (June – November) | 3 – 5 p.m.
June 20, July 18, August 15, September 19, October 17 & November 21

**6 classes for $360 $324 (when you register by May 19)

**Purchase Policy: Missed sessions are non refundable. Participants will not be able to switch times or make up missed sessions. Consistency of group is key to the practice and essential for the learning process. Participant is responsible to supply own computer and internet access.

About our Reflective Consultant:

Jill Hennes, LICSW, IMH-E (IV C), Independent Consultant, has worked in home visiting and infant mental health for almost 30 years, as a home visitor, supervisor, consultant, and therapist. Jill has a master’s in social work, is a licensed clinical social worker, is Endorsed in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, and holds a certificate in Child Abuse Prevention Studies. Her years as Reflective Practice Consultant with the Minnesota Department of Health allowed Jill to learn about building a statewide system of support for reflective practice through the training and mentoring of Public Health supervisors, home visitors, and infant mental health consultants. Jill currently offers reflective consultation to programs that promote infant mental health.
