Now Accepting Requests for Performances of  “Beyond Fidgety Fairy Tales – The Fourth Mental Health Musical

Through the generosity of the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, we are able to offer a limited number of FREE community performances within the Twin Cities in April 2012.  Stories will include Snow White (schizophrenia), Little Mermaid (eating disorders), and Jack and the Beanstalk (currently in development).

Please note that due to the nature of our funding, FREE performances are not available for K-12 settings during the regular school day.  Schools may still book a performance at our regular rate of $600 per performance.

If your organization is interested in hosting a FREE performance, please fill out our request form.

No longer accepting applications at this time.

We are now accepting bookings for our Fall 2011 season.

“Fidgety Fairy Tales” will be available between October 17 and November 30. It includes Little Red Riding Hood (AD/HD), Sleeping Handsome (depression), and Rapunzel (anxiety).

“More Fidgety Fairy Tales” will be available between November 1 and November 30. It includes The Prince and the Pea (autism), Hansel and Gretel (post traumatic stress), and the Frog Prince (collaborative problem solving).

“Further Fidgety Fairy Tales” will be available between September 15 and November 30. It includes Goldilocks (obsessive compulsive disorder), Boyd Who Cried Wolf (Tourette syndrome), and CinderEdward (bipolar disorder).

Please contact Matt Jenson using the form below to book a Fall 2011 performance or to inquire about performance dates after January 1, 2012

School and Daytime Performance Package

Our school performance package includes two performances of the same show on the same day for $1200.  $1/mile is added for performances outside of the Twin Cities.

The two performances may happen at the same location, or they may occur at two locations within 20 minutes of each other.  In the past, schools of neighboring towns have collaborated to bring the performance to their students.  Within the Twin Cities Metro Area, schools in the same district may want to consider collaborating.

Performance Space Requirements

The sets of  both Fidgety Fairy Tales productions are designed to be easily transportable and self-contained.  An official theatre space is not necessary.

An open space such as a lunch room, gym, or multi-purpose room is acceptable.  Iddeally the performance space should be at least 20′ deep and 24′ wide (although we have performed in smaller spaces when necessary).

We do not require a “backstage area” because our backdrop creates a space behind which the actors can make quick changes.  The cast will need to change into their costumes before the show and can do that in a nearby room or set of restrooms.

Audience Set Up

Audience sizes have ranged from 100 – 400.  Depending on the acoustics of your space, the ideal audience size has been 150 – 200.

If the performance space is not higher than the audience space, then we suggest that the audience sit on the floor (if kids) or in chairs (if families).
