Infant & Early Childhood Division
Welcome to MAIECMH (pronounce “make-me”), the Minnesota Association for Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health!
MAIECMH is the early childhood division of MACMH. Established in 2007 as a membership organization, MAIECMH’s mission is to promote the social and emotional development and mental health of children, prenatal through age five, and their families and caregivers.
The goals of MAIECMH include education and advocacy resulting in enhanced, culturally competent, interdisciplinary, professional capacity to serve infants, young children and their families. At the heart of this work is the relationship between a child and her or his parents/caregivers, the primary context within which mental health promotion, screening, assessment and interventions are provided.
MAIECMH activities include:
• promoting professional competency,
• advocacy, and
• enhancing early childhood systems to ensure a comprehensive continuum of care promoting early social and emotional development.
The work of MAIECMH is guided by an advisory board and committee structure. Annual membership includes current updates on the latest in the field of infant and early childhood mental health via periodic MAIECMH E-news. Member dues also support a wide range of statewide activities. Click here for a sampling of what is being accomplished on behalf of our members. A free member reception is hosted annually at the spring MACMH conference in Duluth.
