2015 MHED Talks

2015 MHED Talks

MHED Talks are hosted on Sunday of the MACMH Child & Adolescent Mental Health Conference.

What Are MHED Talks?

MHED Talk presentations, developed in the spirit of the widely-popular TED platform, are brief, 18-minute inspiring speeches that combine the power of story with evidence-based practices and guidelines for children’s mental health. Unlike other conference workshops or sessions, MHED Talks are shorter and engage audiences on both an emotional and scientific level. See examples below of popular TED Talks on mental health- many vary in their perspectives but each capture new scientific findings in the areas of mental health, social sciences and/or children’s health as well as include a strong storyline to captivate their audience.

What Is TED?

From their website, TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.
